Yes - A visa is required for travel to Burundi

A valid passport and tourist visa are required to visit Burundi.

Passport Requirements:

Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, with at least one blank passport page available for Burundi visa stamp(s). Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for Burundi visas.


Burundi Visa Application Form:

Two Burundi visa application forms. After placing your order, fill out the application forms included in your Visa Application Kit.


Photo Requirements:

Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs in color, front view and with a plain/white background.

OR - you can upload a photo when you place your order, instead of providing physical passport photos.


Proof of Travel Arrangements:

Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency or copy of airline ticket showing entry and departure from Burundi.


Hotel Confirmation:

A copy of confirmed hotel and/or tour reservation(s). If staying in various hotels, please provide copies of each reservation. A letter of invitation from the host in Burundi is required if visiting a family member or friend in Burundi.


Medical Requirements:

International certificate of vaccination against yellow fever.

Visa Validity:

Burundi visas are generally issued for single or multiple entry, valid for up to 90 days, at the discretion of the Embassy of Burundi.
